Yoga, Yoga Therapy and Meditation

The essence of classical yoga is the process of bringing the mind under
complete control. It is the ultimate path to tranquility, mental balance,
bodily health, and well-being. This is the state of Svastha.

~ A. G. Mohan

Yoga (group and private sessions):

Yoga makes us aware of our body, breath and mind. The complete practice of Yoga includes asanas (poses), pranayama (controlled breathing), and meditation to achieve personal integration.

I practice and teach Svastha yoga, a breath-based practice, where the challenge is not mastering the most difficult pose but staying connected to our breath throughout the practice. Svastha is a Sanskrit word which translates to the state of complete health and balance.

I offer private as well as group classes. Since no two individuals are exactly alike, a private practice is beneficial since the practice is designed for the individual’s specific needs... starting where they are and building a practice that helps increase flexibility, strength and balance.

Yoga Therapy:

According to the International Association of Yoga Therapists, Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and wellbeing through the application of the teachings and practices of yoga.

The initial meeting with the client includes a complete assessment to identify the problems. This is followed by designing a practice that is tailored for the client’s specific needs and one that is safe, beneficial as well as sustainable.

The benefits of having a private yoga practice are that you can practice at your own pace, and be more aware of the connection between your body and your breath. This practice is combined with a diet and lifestyle that helps bring about balance and relief from pain and discomfort.
